Changing your lifestyle for the better can be an uphill climb (to say the least), so it’s not exactly surprising that we sometimes lose track of why we started it in the first place. Starting a new diet and workout plan, then losing motivation and stopping, then restarting again later, is so common that it even has its own name: yo-yo dieting.

But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way – you just need to find ways to remind yourself of why you started this journey in the first place. Here are some gentle reminders to turn to for whenever you’re feeling discouraged or lost – plus some easy tips and tricks for staying on track for your fitness goals in the Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Riverside, and Orange counties.

You’re the only one who can put in the work.

Just a gentle little nudge: no matter how many fitness classes you sign up for and how many healthy meals that you buy, at the end of the day, nobody can do the hard work except for yourself. You can use tools like meal prep delivery services and personal trainers to help guide you along in your journey, but the end result ultimately depends on how much time and effort you’re willing to give to forwarding your progress.

You’re fighting for so much more than a clothing size.

We tend to dedicate the bulk of our focus on the physical aspects of our health, like our weight and how we fit in our clothes. But take a minute to look a little beyond that: what do you really have to gain from getting healthy? Whether it’s better self-confidence, an improved outlook on life, or an increased ability to enjoy all the things you love about life to your full potential, you’ll probably find that you have a lot . more to look forward to than just your physique if you keep up with your journey!

There’s no better time than right now.

A common pitfall that gets in the way of many people’s fitness progress is that they decide that now isn’t the “right time” to focus on themselves. Whether you’re dealing with a crazy busy schedule, tons of parties and obligations, or upcoming events that’ll make it hard to stick to your diet, it’s way too easy to make excuses for yourself and keep postponing. But the hard truth is that, really, there is never going to be an ideal perfect time for you to get healthy except for right now. Learning how to navigate all of life’s various challenges is integral to maintaining a healthier you for the long-term, so you might as well start instilling those healthy habits into your life sooner rather than later.

Your success brings everyone you love up with you as well.

Better health is a very personal journey, but it’s important to remember that it can have a positive ripple effect on everyone else in your life. Think about how much the ones you love will benefit when you’re at the strongest, healthiest self: you’ll be able to play with your kids for longer, keep up with your friends and family when you’re out adventuring, and won’t be held back anymore by self-consciousness or fear when your time is much better spent enjoying quality time with your loved ones.

Another great reminder: You don’t have to be in this completely alone.

Yes, you ultimately have to be the one to stick to your healthy eating plan and workout routine, but utilizing helpful tools like meal prep delivery services can certainly make the process a lot smoother!
